Will 2019 be the year when people stop using “Latinx” instead of the already gender neutral Latinos? You know the gender neutral word that exists and can actually be used in its own actual language?

As a Latino who speaks Spanish I am so sick of people using “Latinix”. 95% of the time it’s used by white people who don’t speak Spanish. It is not your job to make a “gender neutral” word for us just because you don’t understand our language. Latina is for just women, Latino is for just men, Latinos is for BOTH. It is GENDER NUTERAL. Just like Abeula is grandma, Abuelo is grandpa, and Abuelos would be the gender-neutral term for grandparents.

Anyone who finds the entire idea of “Latinx” utterly annoying and useless can reblog this post.
As someone who comes from an American/ Mexican family, hearing and reading “Latinx” is about as needlessly jarring and pretentious as writing “Whitx” or “AmericX.”
Seriously, it sounds like a label for knock-off software products.
This is my naughty blog right now. Notice how the icon is that snazzy default thing?
That’s because it’s set to explicit, a setting that was locked after the great purge:
BUT
If you right-click on that toggle and click “inspect element”, you can change that.
Notice how the input tag has a disabled attribute? Just remove that whole thing:
The toggle is now active
And toggleable
And now, after a quick refresh, my old (crap, but real) icon and header image are back, and the blog is no longer treated as hidden or explicit.
The goggle also disappears after the refresh, but it’s worth noting that you can also edit the toggle back into the settings panel and change your blog back to explicit if you so desire.
This is a perfect example of the laziness of tumblr’s devs. They haven’t removed the functionality, they’ve just kinda-sorta hidden it a bit; the end-point that the explicit toggle hits is still there.

I don’t even have that toggle option on my settings page since my blog is no longer marked as explicit, but just in case this works for all of you having this issue. If tumblr caught on and fixed this loophole, someone let me know and I’ll delete this post.
